Ag Children’s Book Roundup

Who doesn’t have endearing memories of their favorite children’s book? Mine was A Garden For Miss Mouse by Michaela Muntean and it might be telling that it’s only available for purchase on Ebay. As my own little boys grow their libraries, I’m always on the lookout for books about my favorite topic, agriculture. I’ve rounded up a few of our tried and true books about ag that are great additions to your kids libraries or wonderful gifts for the inquisitive kid.

Thank you, Farm

A gorgeous little board book we give out to all our Farmers Crop Insurance families expecting a new addition, this book is a great gift for the baby farmer in your life.

Construction Site: Farming Strong All Year Long

I’m a big fan of all the Construction Site books, but this one really knocks it out of the park with gorgeous illustrations and I’m a big fan of the FEMALE combine who’s the strongest and mightiest of the farm crew (of course she is). My youngest got this for his birthday from a farming family and I can’t recommend it enough.

My Family’s Soybean Farm

A fun mix of illustrations and photos, this book does a great job at showcasing agricultural technology like GPS and drones. We love our drones here at Farmers Crop and can take pictures of problem areas in fields just like they do in this book!

John Deere, That’s Who!

You mean John Deere didn’t invent the tractor?!?! In theory, I knew this, but since the John Deere brand is synonymous with our favorite green tractors, it’s nice to have a little historical non-fiction reminder. This book has gorgeous illustrations and brings to life the man who developed a light weight steel PLOW, not the tractor!

How Did That Get in My Lunchbox: The Story of Food

How did that slice of bread get from the wheat field to my sandwich? This book answers that and more as it describes how various ag products are processed into consumables.
